May 8th, 2025 - Ask the seminar a question! (BETA version)

With the new "Ask the seminar a question" feature, you can explore the seminar content on your own terms: ask about anything from key concepts to background context or sources. You'll get clear, focused answers along with a direct link to the moment in the video where it’s covered.

December 5th, 2024 - Author seminar recordings

You can now request to be notified when author seminars currently in preparation are available. Just click the I’m interested button and you’ll receive an automated notification.
Authors working on their seminar recording will also be notified that their seminar is receiving community interest.

October 21th, 2024 - Multilingual seminar support

Cassyni now supports AI enhanced seminars presented in Chinese including captions and summaries. Automatic high-quality English translations are automatically made available. Here’s an example .

September 13th, 2024 - Seminar ratings

Seminar attendees can now provide a rating on a scale from 1-5 along with optional free-form feedback text.

August 18th, 2024 - Automagic Tables of Contents

Cassyni can generate AI-powered table of contents for videos in the editor including timestamps and suggested heading. You can edit these to your preference before the table of contents is made public.
The feature is available for past and upcoming recordings alike.

July 2nd, 2024 PubMed Integration

Seminars about articles indexed in PubMed are now linked directly from PubMed article pages, increasing their discoverability in one of the world’s most popular researcher tools.

April 22nd, 2024 - Self-serve Certificates of Attendance

Cassyni now allows seminar attendees to download Certificates of Attendance for any seminar they have attended before via the Seminars  tab of their profile. You can download Certificates of Attendance for any previously attended seminar.
Certificates are automatically available to virtual attendees as well as in person attendees that have had their attendence recorded by the organiser.

March 1st, 2024 - Able to view engagement analytics (page views & recording plays) over a selected date range

Cassyni now allows organisers to view engagement analytics (page views & recording plays) over a selected date range. These analytics can be viewed from the Analytics tab of the series organiser view.

February 6th, 2024 - Option to add intro and outro clips to your seminar

Cassyni now allows organisers to add introduction and outro videos to their seminar recordings via Cassyni’s own video editor. These videos will be added to the start and end of each recording. Learn more about how to upload and include these videos in this FAQ .

December 14th, 2023 - Cassyni seminars are now integrated into Dimensions

Within Dimensions, users will be able to find Cassyni seminars using a new publication type filter. All seminars will have a complete detail page with associated metadata. As the partnership develops, Cassyni's enhanced video player will be embedded on the page allowing Dimensions users to watch seminars from within the platform, search the video and navigate slides.

November 14th, 2023 - Cassyni seminars are now integrated into EndNote

With this integration, researchers using EndNote can find the exact point at which references are mentioned in seminars, find out about upcoming seminars that discuss their EndNote references and then seamlessly RSVP to these seminars directly from within EndNote.

October 17th, 2023 - Easily select when and who to send a custom message to

Cassyni now allows organisers to easily select the date, time and recipients when sending a custom message to attendees of a seminar or symposium.

September 28th, 2023 - New simplified organiser seminar view

Cassyni has a new simplified organiser view making it easy to see and edit all scheduled seminars.

September 25th, 2023 - Easily select the type of seminar and whether it should be embargoed

Cassyni now allows organisers to select if the seminar is a keynote or author seminar, whether its live on Zoom or recorded and how long the talk should be embargoed for.

August 8th, 2023 - Create membership-only communities

Cassyni allows organisers to easily choose between enabling automatic or manual approval of a subscribe request.
Enabling manual approval might be ideal for organisers of closed groups or a paid symposia since there’s also the option to add a URL to direct users to maybe a ticketing or payment site after subscription.
When community approval is required, organisers will receive an email when someone requests to join the community. Researchers who are not yet part of the community can view published seminars but can't join live events, contribute to the post-event discussion, or view other community members.

July 27th, 2023 - Organiser tools to easily move talks and speakers between events

Cassyni now easily allows organisers to switch the talk order of a multi-talk event, move a talk to another series event, change the speaker order of a talk and even move a speaker to another talk.

June 30th, 2023 - Certificate of attendance automatically generated for seminar attendees

Cassyni now automatically generates a certificate of attendance for individuals who have attended the seminar.

May 25th, 2023 — Seminar slides now organised by chapters

Cassyni now organises seminar slides by their corresponding chapter and summary.

April 5th, 2023 — Scheduling author seminars

Cassyni now allows organisers to invite the authors of a specific published paper to give a seminar on Cassyni.

Mar 16, 2023 — Bringing live Zoom discussion to Cassyni Q&A

Cassyni now enables organisers to add questions and comments from Zoom into the Cassyni Q&A tab of the seminar. This boosts activity and preserves the discussion.
Organisers can manually select those comments when editing the recording the usual way. Selected comments will appear under the Q&A tab on the event page, with a linked timestamp in the video where the speaker gives an answer to the specific question.

Mar 13, 2023 — Speaker moderator role

Cassyni now allows organisers to choose between two different types of roles for speakers: Presenter and Chair.
Presenter: A presenter is a speaker that is presenting a talk or participating in a panel
Chair: A chair is a speaker that introduces other speakers, chairs panels or moderates discussions
Organisers are encouraged to refer to this FAQ to learn how to set up a speaker’s role.

Feb 16, 2023 — Symposium support

Major release allowing organisers to collect registrations and run full symposia on Cassyni.

As an organiser, you can set a limit to the number of in-person/virtual attendees, set a registration deadline and ask your registrants to fill in answers to custom questions.
