About the Queer and LGBT+ Studies Collection and Lived Places Publishing

At Lived Places Publishing, we publish course readings that focus on lived experiences in the context of place. We provide an ever-growing list of interdisciplinary and subject-based collections across academic curricula—including Gender Studies, Black Studies, Disability Studies, and Queer and LGBT+ Studies. Through personal narratives, rigorous research, and community-focused perspectives, we aim to provide educators and students with transformative resources that deepen understanding and spark meaningful discussions.

The Queer and LGBT+ Studies Collection presents stories of gender and intersectionality to aid students in analyzing gender identity and patriarchal forces. Grounded in lived experience, these works explore women’s rights, systemic gender discrimination, and intersectional issues in diverse cultural contexts. By bringing stories from marginalized voices into the academic mainstream, this collection provides insights that are both timely and urgent.

Our collection is deeply rooted in community and activism, highlighting how grassroots movements challenge global systems of inequality. We aim to bridge the gap between macro-level policy and micro-level experiences, showcasing the profound influence of place on individual narratives.
