Following the UN Summit of the Future (September 20-23, 2024), we are honored to welcome Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, a Professor of Economics at Athens University of Economics and Business & Technical University of Denmark; Chair World Council of Environmental Resource Economists Associations; Chair SDSN Global Climate Hub; Co-chair SDSN Europe; Director AE4RIA. Her presentation on SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals will be chaired by Asja Prohic, Head of Academic Affairs, and Marios Karouzos, Head of Publishing Strategy at Springer Nature, followed by a Q&A session.

Abstract: The challenges of multi-stakeholder collaboration and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have reached a critical juncture. Innovative approaches to cooperation are now more essential than ever, requiring a nuanced understanding of various contexts while ensuring equitable solutions.

Prof. Koundouri will draw on her extensive expertise in uniting diverse stakeholders to address global issues through bottom-up and community-based approaches. She will present recent initiatives at the intersection of science and policy and emphasize the importance of measuring their impact.

Additionally, Prof. Koundouri will share her insights on the outcomes of the UN Summit of the Future and offer her perspectives on how publishers can contribute to fostering collaboration and addressing inequalities.
