With the availability of extensive data from simulations and laboratory and field experiments, data-driven dynamics is playing a key role in understanding the behavior of complex systems. Different examples ranging from rogue waves in the ocean to unmanned air vehicles will be used to illustrate how data can be used to build models to predict as well as forecast complex dynamics.
