Comparative analysis of performance of single-sided and double-sided vibro-impact dampers

We compare the dynamic behavior and efficiency in mitigating primary structure (PS) vibrations for asymmetric single-sided and symmetric double-sided vibro-impact nonlinear energy sinks (SS and DS VI NES). We show that the performance of the different VI NES types with optimized parameters is similar, but their dynamic behavior differs significantly.
