"Burnout" is a potentially dangerous term in
discussions about workplace wellness. So long as folks
lack labour protection, fair wages, sick days, and
space and time to get support for their mental health, they are not "burned out." The system has burned
them down.

We can encourage physicians to come forward about wellness and mental health concerns but it is hard to support people to have time away when
there is no one to take over their patient care-hence the important shift in
understanding wellness from a structural perspective
